This non-profit organization is a team of
nurses, doctors, surgeons, medics, EMTs, physical therapists, and
other medical professionals who donate their time and expertise
towards those in need. Whether it be creating sustainable healthcare
in poverty-stricken nations or crossing borders as first responders
in a natural disaster, these men and women are dedicated to
providing quality medical care and supplies that assist in healing
the body, mind, and spirit.
Most recently, this non-profit organization
was
operating in port au prince, haiti as part of the 2010 earthquake
relief efforts. We helped provide medical care,
psychological counseling, supplies, and logistical support to the
suffering nation.
As part of our efforts to provide
psychological support to the people of haiti, we have implemented a
grief therapy program targeted to children and adolescents. the
program was designed and adapted for the haitian culture and
language. please feel free to download a copy of the 5 module series
and implement it in your own relief efforts in the region.
On Jan. 7th, 2011, the JPMRT will be
returning to Haiti for a short mission to deliver supplies,
including oral rehydration packets and provide medical care in the
cholera clinics. We will be accessing the northern part of the
country where the fatality rates from cholera have been the highest.
Join us Tuesday,
Jan. 4th, between 5-8 at
Beaner's Central
in Duluth for live music
featuring
jessica myshack, art exhibition,
silent auction for all photography, and join the assembly line
where we will attempt to make 1,000
